News and press releases
A glorious sunny day and our beautiful garden was the backdrop for our Summer Volunteer Party on Saturday. We love this time of year because we get the chance to say an extra special thank you to our Volunteers for all their hard work.
The party was great fun, with around 40 volunteers, three of the Sisters and some of our patients coming along to help us celebrate.
The party had a lively start with entertainment from the very talented Adrenalin Dance group (Hackney Children’s Theatre) who demonstrated their break dance skills. Then our CEO Tony McLean gave out twelve awards for long service to our dedicated volunteers who have been with us for 5, 10 and 20 years.
Tony McLean (who despite the photograph didn’t do any break dancing) said, “It was such an honour for me to give these awards to our wonderful volunteers. I want to say a huge thank you to every single one of them, who give us their time, energy and dedication. Quite simply, without them we couldn’t run the Hospice.”
If you would like to become a volunteer we have lots of opportunities available, particularly for those who are interested in retail. Contact Zivile or Simon for further information firstname.lastname@example.org.
