What we do and who we care for
Founded in 1905 by the Sisters of Charity, St Joseph’s Hospice is one of the oldest and largest hospices in the UK. We provide high quality, specialist palliative care and support to people in our local community who have a life-limiting illness. All our services are free of charge.
Our core boroughs are City and Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham, but some of our services are also available to people in the surrounding boroughs of Waltham Forest, Islington, Haringey and Enfield reaching a population of around 2.1 million people.
We take a holistic approach to our care, which means that we look after the wellbeing of the whole person, as well as their loved ones.
We provide palliative care in the Hospice and in the community as we believe that people should choose where they receive their care.
Our range of services include:
- Inpatient care
- Palliative care at home
- Community and day services
- Therapies
