Get help writing your will, free of charge
St Joseph’s Hospice have teamed up with local solicitors to help you put your affairs in order FREE OF CHARGE. We hope you will consider remembering us in your Will, but you are under no obligation to do so.

Your Will specifies how you’d like your estate (what you own – money, possessions and property) to be distributed after you die. If you don’t leave a Will, the law decides how your estate should be passed on so please do think about writing a Will today.
Book a face-to-face appointment with a local solicitor
If you would like to work privately with a local solicitor to write a Will, we work with local solicitors based in East London and Greater London, who can help FREE OF CHARGE. If you are ready to write your Will please email Legacies@stjh.org.uk requesting a Will referral.
Different partners offer appointments at their local East London office or have telephone, video or home appointments. If you specify your preference in your referral request we will be able to recommend you with the most appropriate solicitor.
You can also choose to attend a Will workshop which the Hospice hosts every 2 months where we take it in turns to invite our local partners in to meet our supporters and answer any questions.

Write your Will online or over the phone
You can make a basic will online or over the phone for FREE through our partner Farewill. Farewill is the UK’s #1 online Will writing service. It is a quick and easy process, taking as little as 15 minutes. You will have access to free legal support and will checking service every step of the way. This is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm, via email support or telephone.
To get started, you will need a code or link to allow you to use the service for free. You can request a free will code or link via email. You can then get your free online or telephone service via the Farewill website.
“I had a very positive experience writing my Will by telephone with Farewill. The answers I received to my questions were very useful and helped me gain clarity. I was able to fully express my wishes for my Will.”

Free Will Writing Workshops
We run regular will writing workshops here at the hospice, working with local solicitors who donate their expertise and time to help supporters make a Will or update an existing Will for free. They are information sessions covering all relevant topics for planning your future including wills, inheritance tax and lasting power of attorney.
We also host Will clinics – FREE face to face appointments with the solicitors to get a basic or mirror Will written, reviewed and updated for free.
