 Nurses Recruitment Open Evening
In early November we held a Nurses Open Evening to recruit Band 5 Staff Nurses. It was a great opportunity to showcase what it’s like to work as part of our fantastic nursing team at St Joseph’s. The evening was very successful and we will be holding another open evening on January 25th, 4pm – 7pm.
HOSPICE NEWS
Celebration On the hottest day of 2023, 45 Compassionate Neighbours (CNs) and their community members braved the
heat to celebrate all their hard work over the past few years. Each Hospice in the Compassionate Neighbours network across London and the South East was given a letter each to decorate, to make up the word ‘Compassionate’. St Joseph’s were given the letter S, and a small group of volunteers worked together to share ideas and skills to decorate the letter as a team. We’re delighted that there are now more than 3,000 trained CN’s volunteering in
the Compassionate Neighbours program, providing emotional and social support to those that need it most in the community, every day.
Actress Sorcha Cusack meets our Hospice staff
Irish star of stage and screen Sorcha Cusack joined us at the Hospice in November for a guided tour with Joint CEO Tony McLean and Philanthropy Manager Peter Rosenvinge. Our Head of Mission Carolyne Barber and Sister
Maria Coates thoroughly enjoyed meeting Sorcha, particularly her enthusiasm for the fascinating history of St Joseph’s - which you can read all about on our website!
