Activities Trolley Volunteer
As an Activities Trolley Assistant, you will play a vital role in offering companionship to patients, helping reduce social isolation by facilitating meaningful interactions.

Role Overview:
You will bring the activities trolley to the wards, providing patients with opportunities for recreational and social engagement in a compassionate and respectful manner.
Main Activities:
- Spend quality time with patients who are on their own, offering friendly and supportive companionship.
- Facilitate recreational activities, including board games, puzzles, crosswords, arts and crafts, and hand massages.
- Accompany patients to different areas of the hospice, such as the chapel, garden, or Hospice Café, providing a change of environment and promoting social interaction.
- Offer family members the opportunity to sign out games and activities during their visits.
Volunteering Hours:
- Monday to Sunday, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
- We are currently looking for volunteers to cover alternate Saturdays and Sundays.
- We are seeking volunteers who can commit to a regular schedule to ensure consistent care for our patients.
Personal Qualities We Are Looking For:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Reliable, compassionate, empathetic, and kind individuals who understand the importance of offering a calm and supportive presence.
- Confident in approaching and engaging with patients in a sensitive, respectful manner.
- Comfortable in a ward environment, with awareness and sensitivity to the needs of patients and their families.
