The Great East End Walk 2024
The Great East End Walk 2024 took place on Sunday 8th September, and what an amazing day it was!
We’re absolutely thrilled to tell you that 155 amazing people took part in this year’s walk, and they’ve raised a whopping £40,000+ for St Joseph’s Hospice, making it our most successful walk not just since before the pandemic, but since the walk first began in 2000!
From a supporter coming in from as far afield as Glasgow, to a supporter who first took part in 2005, we met so many amazing Hospice supporters, all with their own special reason as to why they were taking part. We’ve even had feedback from people who came on their own, and ended up leaving with new friends.
We couldn’t have done this without the help of teams here at the Hospice, our amazing volunteer marshals and the local businesses who kindly offered discounts (not to mention our very own team member Kat who manned the glitter station!). We’d also like to thank everyone who took part, as well as everyone who donated.
The total of £40,000 raised so far could pay for four days of specialist palliative care for patients staying on our two inpatient wards, Lourdes and St Michael’s. So from all of us here at the Hospice, a big thank you!
