In 2023 our fantastic supporters raised nearly £200,000 via JustGiving alone!

Here are our top tips to allow you to boost your online fundraising, and help us support those in East London who need us most.

  1. Set up and personalise your fundraising page! Add as much information about your fundraising as you can. Details of the event, why you’re fundraising, and anything else you think might make your supporters more likely to donate.
  2. Tell your supporters why they should donate towards St Joseph’s Hospice. If you or a loved one have benefited from St Joseph’s incredible range of free in-patient and community services, then tell people! Don’t assume your supporters will be familiar with St Joseph’s services, help educate them so they know how their generosity will help.
  3. Set a fundraising target. Pages with a target raise 17% more, so reach for the stars!
  4. Share your page with everyone and anyone! Tell people all about the fantastic things you’re doing to support St Joseph’s Hospice. Share you page on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Tick Tok and more. You can even create a QR code which you could print onto posters for display in your workplace.
  5. Your workplace might be willing to support you too. Ask them for matched funding, and if they can share your JustGiving page on any internal and external communications – you never know where those extra donations may come from!
  6. Keep everyone updated with your fundraising adventure. Let friends and family know how you’re getting on with your fundraising preparations, and then tell them how it went after too! You can post updates on your JustGiving page too, and even link-in 3rd party platforms such as Strava (Super handy if you’re training for a physical challenge).
  7. Still not quite sure how to make sure your JustGiving page attracts all the donations your generous support deserves? Check out our model page here, or get in touch at fundraising@stjh.org.uk and our lovely fundraising team will be happy to help.
