St Joseph’s Hospice receives Silver FREDIE award!

We are thrilled to announce that St Joseph’s Hospice has recently received the Investors in Diversity Silver Award! A testament to our commitment to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement, this award reflects two years of dedication and effort by our entire staff team. We would also like to give special recognition to our FREDIE Committee and networks, whose hard work has been crucial to this achievement.

To celebrate we hosted a special event this morning, unveiling a display in the hub showcasing all the effort that made this possible. It was wonderful to look back on some highlights, like our events hosted during LGBT History Month and Black History Month!

In her speech Janet Simkins, Director of Human Resources, said

“This award is important because being able to be authentically yourself and for that to be celebrated means we are living our core values. Consequently, our patients and their loved ones know that they will see others like themselves and that make the Hospice a safe place to be.

We are very proud of this achievement and remain committed to continuing to learn and improve as we go for gold!”
