Meet John Wilson, Head of Supportive Care
John Wilson is our Head of Supportive Care. He looks after all of the clinical services at the hospice that aren't nursing or medical. These include Day Hospice, Bereavement, Therapies and Complementary Therapies, Social Work, Namaste, Live Well and Psychotherapy, which is a pretty big job!
We asked John how he came to be at St Joseph's and he told us that when he was at his last job there was an overlap with St Joseph’s and he saw, first hand, the support that patients near the end of life received from the hospice staff. He was really blown away by the hospice and the dignity and personalisation of the care given to everyone. He decided that if a vacancy ever became available he would love to work at St Joseph’s and when it did he jumped at the chance and here he is today.
John said, “I’m thrilled to be here. Every day I’m humbled by what I see from the the staff and volunteers who care for our patients. I feel lucky to be working among such an amazing group of people.”
