Meet Bea

What is your role at St Joseph’s Hospice?

My role is looking after people who support the Hospice in memory of their loved one and encouraging our supporters and friends to consider supporting St Joseph’s with a gift in their Will. One in four people in our care is supported thanks to the generosity of people who leave a legacy to the hospice.

What do you like most about working at the hospice?

The opportunity to meet with and hear the difference our services make to not only patients but also their families, friends and carers. Also helping families, friends and carers to remember their loved ones in special ways such as dedicating a leaf on our memory trees or adding a tribute in our Book of Remembrance.

What is your proudest moment at St Joseph’s?

Last night was our Light Up a Life service. What a lovely way to help people to reflect and remember their loved ones. The event was wonderful, you could feel the emotion but everyone was pleased to be there. It felt very special; the poignant service, the lighting of the tree and seeing so many people writing their messages on stars and hanging them on Christmas trees. Just beautiful.

Tell us something we don’t know about you

My background is in finance/business management - not sure how I ended up in fundraising but it’s very rewarding.

If you are interested in leaving a gift in your will contact Bea on 020 8525 3205 or email b.kahiro@stjh.org.uk. Thank you.

We would like to hear from you
