Meet Anne who has just joined us as Quality Improvement and Clinical Governance Lead. We asked her about her new role here at the Hospice.
Anne, a Physiotherapist by background, joins us from the Homerton Hospital where she spent five years as a discharge planner, a safeguarding specialist and working in Quality Improvement, to help make the patient experience a better one.
At St Joseph’s she'll be a “fixer”, looking at whether anything needs improving, and, if it does, she will work with staff to put a project in place to make those improvements happen. While her work will mostly be with the clinical staff, she will also be looking across the organisation.
This is an important role that will ensure the hospice maintains its high standards of care and brings it to a new level of effectiveness so that we are prepared to meet the increased demand for hospice care in the future.
Anne said, “Before I came to St Joseph’s everyone I talked to about the hospice had nothing but good things to say about the care given to patients. Now I’ve arrived I’m so impressed with the friendliness and the kindness that is shown here. Everyone smiles at you and says good morning. I can’t wait to get started.”
