Be More Cheryl
W+K enjoying a well deserved rest during last year's walk
Wieden+Kennedy have been busy fundraising for St Joseph's with their Clothes Swap event, which raised £800. They also have a pop-up shop running in their window on Hanbury Street and on the 18th of May they'll be taking part in a fundraising walk around East London. This is their annual Be More Cheryl stroll-a-thon, which started in 2014 in memory of their colleague Cheryl Rogers. Here is their story:
“Every year the whole of Wieden+Kennedy take an afternoon to remember Cheryl Rogers. Cheryl was a huge part of W+K for an incredible thirteen years. Four years ago at just 39, Cheryl spent her last few weeks at St Joseph's and since then W+K have been raising money, and having some fun, in her memory. Cheryl would have loved this tribute to her as she was a really fun person and would have been there with us enjoying a drink and a laugh.
Please give what you can. We can’t promise we’ll do it in record time. We can’t promise that we won’t have the odd pint along the way. But we can promise that we’ll walk with a spring in our step, trying to Be More Cheryl."
Since 2014, this walk has raised over £60,587, a fantastic tribute to Cheryl. This year W+K will be wearing bright orange T-shirts decorated with purple smiles, so if you see them strolling around East London on the 18th of May, cheer them on! You can also sponsor them on their just giving page. Don't forget to add gift aid, it makes such a difference!
