Launching our Hospice Strategy 2026-2031
We welcomed supporters, partners and local leaders to St Joseph’s for a special reception marking the launch of our Hospice Strategy 2026-2031 and sharing our vision for the future of compassionate care.
On Thursday 17th September, we were delighted to share our Hospice Strategy 2026-2031 by hosting a ‘Future of Compassionate Care’ reception.

We welcomed supporters, local councillors and dignitaries, corporate partners and members of local health networks to share our vision for the next stage of our work.
The evening featured talks by our Chair of Trustees Simon Bunce, Chief Executive Officer Dr Rachel Black, Director of Care Jacquie Hackett and Head of Community Palliative Care Marianne Mestern, sharing the new strategy, exploring future projects and considering how we plan to better serve our patients and their loved ones.

The event formed part of a larger Hospice-wide effort to strengthen links with local organisations, healthcare providers, faith groups and cultural communities, to raise awareness and ensure we can reach people earlier, when our support can have the greatest impact.
Conversations during the evening reinforced just how much opportunity there is to work with local partners. Guests were engaged in understanding not only what St Joseph’s does today, but how they could play a part in helping us deliver our ambitions for the future.
