Hospice leaders meet with Secretary of State for Health & Social Care
St Joseph’s Hospice CEO, Dr Rachel Black, attends a round table meeting with the Rt. Hon Wes Streeting MP, to discuss challenges that hospices are facing.
On Friday 10th October Dr Rachel Black attended a round table meeting at Saint Francis Hospice with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, the Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP, and representatives from four North East London Hospices (adult and children) and Hospice UK.
The key topics discussed were the challenges that hospices are facing, with a particular focus on the need for sustainable funding, the use of the £100m capital funding made available to hospices earlier this year and future developments in line with the government’s 10 year plan for health.
Rachel Black said “It was a really productive meeting and we look forward to working together to meet the needs of the hospice sector and address the challenges ahead.”
