Faith Groups
St Joseph’s Hospice is proud to serve a hugely diverse community and offer free, specialist care to people of all faiths or none. Our on-site Chaplaincy Team includes a Priest, Vicar, Imam and Rabbi, and we are always looking to establish links with local faith groups. We recognise the enormous role that faith groups, local religious leaders and congregations play in supporting the most vulnerable within our shared community.
We would love to visit your group, parish or next service to talk about how you can show your support to the work of St Joseph’s and the 6,000 people in East London living with life-limiting illness we take care of each year. You are also more than welcome to visit us here at St Joseph’s to see our care facilities for yourself and what your support would go towards. We have a rich history of delivering outstanding care since 1905 which we would be delighted to show you.

How you can get involved
Hold a collection after prayers, or during your service, for St Joseph’s Hospice.
We can attend to speak during your service, or host your second collection during mass or outside your mosque. We will be able to give you a tangible impact for what your collection can fund at the hospice so you can know the first-hand impact your support is having.
Host a jumble, book or bake sale
During your meeting or after a service, this is a great way to recycle for a good cause! Any leftover items could then be donated to our St Joseph’s Charity Shops to further support the hospice.
Include St Joseph’s Hospice in your celebrations
Whether Ramadan or a Christmas Carol evening, we would love to support your faith celebrations to make these times of giving even more special and bring our shared community together.
Meet two of our Faith Group Partners
Bethnal Green Mission Church
Our friends at Bethnal Green Mission Church have been busy knitting beautiful blankets for patients on our wards over the past year as part of their Craft and Company weekly group. These blankets are perfect for patients who want to spend time in our gardens on colder days, and all of us at the Hospice are so appreciative of the Church’s generosity.
“We make the blankets for the people staying on the wards, to provide a little extra help to feel at home.” (Bethnal Green Mission Church via Instagram)

Knights of Marshall Council 90
The well-dressed Knights of Marshall Council 90 recently donated £500 to support the work of St Joseph’s Hospice. This generous contribution could pay for 12 counselling sessions for family members including children who have experienced a bereavement.

From last minute donning of a Minnie Mouse costume and being an exceptionally good judge of cake, to speaking in front of congregations and masonic lodges, she is available for whatever your group needs.

Charlie, Community Fundraiser
Charlie joined St Joseph’s Hospice in August 2023 and since then has dressed up as a reindeer on more than one occasion, whilst also launching fun community initiatives such as the 2024 Euros Sweepstake and Sports Day for St Joseph’s. Come rain or shine you’ll likely spot Charlie as he cycles to visit supporters in the community, delivering a quality supporter experience for our fantastic fundraisers!
