Donating in memory is a wonderful way to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one. By doing so, you are also helping ensure people living with a life-limiting illness receive specialist and compassionate care, when they need it most.

Funeral Collections
Some people choose to hold a collection at a funeral or memorial service, often in lieu of flowers.

Our beautiful Memory Trees here at the Hospice are a special way for families and friends to remember loved ones.
Fundraise in memory
Some people choose to fundraise in memory of their loved ones – by putting on an event like a pub quiz or coffee morning, or by taking on a challenge like an abseil or marathon.
Light Up a Life 2025
Join us for one of six very special remembrance events this December
Each year, we invite our community to join us to remember and celebrate the lives of those we will always love and deeply miss. This year, Light Up a Life will be held over three days, to make sure it is an accessible and comfortable event for everyone.
As you arrive at St Joseph’s on your chosen day, you’ll be greeted by the gentle glow of our Light Up a Life tree. Each twinkling light on the tree represents a dedication made to someone special.
During your visit, you will be able to create a beautiful memory jar, helping to fill the space with warmth and light.
You’ll then be invited to take your seat to watch an exclusive showing of our pre-recorded multi-faith service. During your visit, you’re welcome to view our Book of Remembrance, visit our Chapel to light a candle and enjoy some light refreshments in a warm, peaceful setting.
Sessions are free to attend but you must book in advance. If you are unable to attend, you are still welcome to make a dedication to someone special to be included in the Book of Remembrance.
