Pearl has supported St Joseph’s Hospice for many years, after her mother-in-law was cared for by the Hospice in her final months. Read her story in her words, including why she has left a gift to the Hospice in her Will.
Leaving a gift in your Will
Gifts left in Wills are crucial to the survival of St Joseph’s Hospice, with 1 in 7 of our patients cared for thanks to our supporters who have left a gift in their Will.
With rising costs and a growing demand for hospice services, these gifts are more important than ever. Your gift ensures we can continue to offer compassionate, free care to everyone who needs us, now and in the future.
We are here to help make leaving a gift in your Will simple, and to provide free services that can assist you. You can request a free Gift in Wills guide, attend a free Will-Writing Workshop, speak to a solicitor or read our FAQs for more information.

Why I'm leaving a gift in my Will to St Joseph's Hospice
“My husband was cared for by the team at St Joseph’s as an inpatient and then by their community nurses to allow him to pass away in his own home surrounded by family and friends during his last days. The kindness, understanding and help shown to all of us helped us through the worst of times.
I feel very strongly that to give back to the Hospice may enable other families to receive the kindness and care that we did. This is also the reason that when I was in the position to leave a gift in my Will to St Joseph’s, I was very happy to do so in the hope it helps in some small way.”
