Lunch time!
1pm-3pm
We help the rest of the team with putting on the afternoon’s activities – crafts, (noisy!) games of bingo and karaoke are very popular choices. Sometimes, patients will prefer to have some quiet time, so they might want us to sit with them and chat, or settle in for an afternoon reading the paper or painting. Sometimes, we have donations from local businesses, or we have volunteers from the Hospice’s corporate partners who’ll put on parties – which
are great fun! It is a privilege to make our patients smile and laugh in difficult times.
GEEW and
Ray’s 5k
Ray smashed his Olympic Park
5k earlier in the year, and enjoyed it so much that he asked Pat
and a few other colleagues to take on our Great East End Walk. Despite the temperature hitting
a whopping 30 degrees very
early on in the day, Ray and Pat kept their spirits high throughout the ten miles, even joining the Fundraising team to cheer on other finishers at the end! Finally, Ray has finished up the year with a bang at the Festive 5k in Victoria Park. We can't wait to see what challenge the drivers take on next!
At the Great East End Walk...
....and the Olympic Park 5k!
