Here’s why Kelly is walking in memory this year…

“I’m walking to remember my late Nan Caroline Doyle. At the end of my Nan’s life, she sadly didn’t get the opportunity to engage with the Hospice but I was able to attend bereavement counselling. This gave me a safe place to work through feelings and understand the process of my Nan’s journey, and the ability to also support family members with the process of losing a loved one.

I’ve decided this year to do the Great East End Walk again because having shared my gratitude towards St Joseph’s Hospice my friends and family would like to support the Hospice too! Together we will remember my Nan and are looking forward to walk in our local East End Area.”

Frequently asked questions

What is the start time?

Start times will be staggered between 9am and 10.30 to provide space for everyone all the route.

How do I fundraise?

As part of your registration fee you’ll get a fundraising pack with all of our tips on how to fundraise. We’ve created a JustGiving page which is super easy to set up. Or you can use the sponsorship form which will be in your fundraising pack.

Can I raise money for another charity?

No. Your registration fee only covers the cost of running the event so we rely on your sponsorship to keep us going.

Can my friends and family cheer me on?

We’re having to limit additional people at the start as it will be in the Hospice car park but you are welcome to invite family and friends to meet you at the finish area.

I’ve registered but now I can’t make it, what should I do?

Please email Becky on fundraising@stjh.org.uk and we can defer your place to the 2023 event.

Please be aware...
