Palliative Care Training For You

We deliver an innovative and wide-ranging programme of palliative care training. Drawing on a wealth of experience and expertise from it's professional healthcare staff and Education Team, anyone with an interest in End of Life Care will be able to find the right course for them.

Most of the courses below are open to anyone, although many require an application form that will be assessed for suitability. Organisations are also welcome to enquire about bespoke training courses.


Foundations in Palliative Care

A unique course using St Joseph's Hospice staff's expertise and experience in palliative care. Foundations in Palliative Care provides an interactive and insightful introduction into End of Life care for any health or social care professional that has a role in supporting people living with, or dying from advanced illness.

A 4 day course aimed at health care workers with an interest in end of life care and the impact on individuals, their carers and families.

Behavioural Change theories and models are attempts to explain the reasons behind alterations in individuals' behaviour patterns. In recent years, there has been increased interest in the application of those theories in the area of health & education. This one day workshop explores some of the major theories of behaviour and behaviour change that are essential to the development of effective interventions in behaviour.

An Introduction to Project Management

Background:

This is an introductory course, providing an overview of the key principles of project management.  It will give you the opportunity to see and try out some of the key tools and techniques, as well as considering how they can be used within St Joseph’s Hospice and to support the principles of our mission.

The course follows the key stages of a project life-cycle and you will see how a project develops from its Initiation, through Planning to Implementation and then to Close-Out.
