Over 200 trees collected in our first Christmas Tree Collection scheme!
Earlier this month, our incredible volunteers took to the Hackney streets for our very first Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Scheme.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to our friends from Kilnbridge and M Parkin Tree Specialists for giving up their Sunday to collect and recycle over 200 trees from across Hackney. The trees have been turned into woodchips and will be reused locally to help maintain the trails on Hackney Marshes.
As you can see from their snaps from the day, they worked from sunrise to sunset (whilst also battling the Mare Street traffic!) to support this campaign, and we are incredibly grateful for their time and generosity.
We’re also grateful to every single person who chose to recycle their tree with St Joseph’s this year – your donations have made a real difference, helping us continue providing compassionate care to people and their families across East London.
We’re already getting ready to make the 2027 collection scheme even bigger and better!
