Carers Week Celebration
A Recap of our Carers Week Event on June 13th!
In June we welcomed more than 30 unpaid carers, staff and volunteers to our Carers Week Celebration – for a much needed day of fun and relaxation! Our goal was to help carers connect with other people who share their experiences. St Joseph’s Hospice created the Carers Service to support family and friends caring for Hospice patients. Carers do a lot for others, but they also need social and emotional support.
A huge thank you to the Haeckels House London team from Broadway Market, who provided relaxing hand massages on the day and lovely gifts. It was amazing to see our carers get pampered as they deserve!
There was a a calming yoga workshop workshop led by the wonderful Emma Williamson, our carers said that they really enjoyed the chance to try something new.
There was also an informative carer training workshop led by Sam, our Dietitian, and Madeline (SALT). Your expertise and support were appreciated by all.
Our fabulous staff pulled out all the stops to make the day so special – beautiful flowers from our gardeners, stunning cakes from Christine and Alfie and fun bingo by Lucia and Daniel.
Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer experience and the opportunity to befriend and support others in your local community? Our Carers Service volunteers support relatives and friends of our patients by providing companionship and emotional support.
Our next volunteer training session is taking place on Thursday 15th August.
