Syringe Driver Appeal
We are currently seeking urgent funding to replace our stock of older syringe drivers for use on our inpatient wards.
Syringe drivers are essential equipment in palliative care, used to deliver medicine to patients at end of life, to help manage pain, sickness, fits and breathing problems. A small battery-powered pump delivers medication through a very fine needle under the skin.
Each syringe driver costs £1,438, which includes the cost of a lockbox to ensure medications and syringes are kept safe.
We urgently need to replace 10 syringe drivers which will reach the end of their lifespan in 2024 to ensure that we can keep providing safe and effective pain management for our patients.
If we raise enough for the 10 drivers required, any excess donations will go to general funds.
