Flowers of Celebration
Purchase a beautiful porcelain flower and celebrate the life of someone special.
Celebrate a Life
Our Flowers of Celebration event is back with a brand new design for 2023!
Last year, we launched our first summer in-memory event for loved ones to celebrate someone special by purchasing a ceramic flower. The event was a special time to celebrate and honour those no longer with us.
This summer, you’re invited to purchase a beautiful limited-edition white and blue porcelain flower bearing the name of someone special. The design of the flower is drawn from a blue anemone, a symbol of love and respect.
We are delighted to continue working with local artist Hanna Salomonsson who designed last year’s flowers. Hanna has handcrafted 350 porcelain flowers, with each flower representing the life of someone special.
All flowers will be planted and displayed at the Hospice during the summer as part of our Garden of Celebration and the flowers will be on display at the Hospice for a month. From September, you will have the opportunity to collect your flower in the Hospice, or it will be posted to you if you have paid for postage and packaging.
Meet Emma, who bought a Flower of Celebration for her Dad last year
“I bought a flower of celebration in honour of my dad, who passed away in St Joseph’s Hospice in January 2022. The care he received was second to none, and buying the flower meant that I was able to help the Hospice with a small donation. We also had something to remember my dad by that came from the Hospice. And what better way than a beautiful ceramic flower. I believe the orange in the flower represents hope and the flower was displayed in the garden with many others.
The Garden of Celebration event was lovely as you got to meet people who are in a similar situation as you and got to talk about the lives of the special people we miss and the amazing work of St Joseph’s. The flower is now in pride of place in his lantern alongside some of his ashes. My dad and St Joseph‘s are forever in my heart.” Emma
