This year’s design is a warm yellow flower with a pale yellow centre, representing warmth and care.

Ceramicist Hanna Salomonsson has worked with St Joseph’s Hospice since Flowers of Celebration began in 2022, and we’re pleased to say that this year she has once again designed and crafted 350 unique flower keepsakes as a special way to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

Each flower will be planted in our Garden of Celebration temporary installation in the Hospice gardens this summer.

Celebrate the life of someone special while making a real difference to patients in our care

Over the past five years, Flowers of Celebration has raised a phenemonal £65,000 towards the vital care of the patients and families who need us across East London. We are a registered charity and receive just over half of our funding from the NHS, which means we need to raise around £6m a year to keep our services running.

You can purchase a Flower of Celebration for £30. If you choose to collect your flower from the Hospice in September once the installation is finished, there is no additional charge. Or, for an additional postage and packaging charge of £6, your flower will be delivered to you after the installation.

Garden of Celebration

Each flower purchased will be planted at St Joseph’s Hospice in our Garden of Celebration to create a beautiful display of colours for the summer.

When you order your flower, you are invited to join us at the unveiling of the Garden of Celebration held on Saturday 11th July. You are welcome to bring family and friends if you would like to.

This event is a meaningful time to come together, share memories and celebrate the lives of those close to us that we have lost. At the opening, there will be refreshments and music to enjoy while viewing the display of colourful flowers.

Patricia's Story

“My Mum, Maura, was a very important person in my life. St Joseph’s Hospice cared for her with such kindness and dignity, and I will always be grateful for the support they gave both to her and our family during such a difficult time.

Buying a Flower of Celebration each year feels like a small but very meaningful way to remember my Mum. The flower represents the love that I still have for her, and gives me a way to keep her memory present in a beautiful, positive way.

The Garden of Celebration event is also very special. There is something comforting about being surrounded by others who understand, in such a peaceful and supportive place. Seeing all of the flowers together is a powerful reminder that although we have each experienced loss, we are not alone in remembering those who meant so much to us.

Unlike a real flower that fades, the Flowers of Celebration remain as a reminder of the person it represents. Seeing the flowers from previous years in a vase at home helps me reflect on the happy memories and reminds me that the love and moments we shared will always stay with me.”
