Flowers of Celebration 2025
Celebrate the life of someone special and purchase your handmade porcelain flower today. When you order your flower, you’ll be invited to join us for the unveiling of this year’s Garden of Celebration here at the Hospice in July.
This year’s design is a delicate purple flower with red and white hues, representing serenity and hope.
Ceramicist Hanna Salomonsson has worked with St Joseph’s Hospice since Flowers of Celebration began in 2022, and we’re pleased to say that this year she has once again designed and crafted 300 unique flower keepsakes as a special way to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
Each flower will be planted in our Garden of Celebration temporary installation in the Hospice gardens this summer.

Celebrate the life of someone special while making a real difference to patients in our care
Over the past four years, Flowers of Celebration has raised a phenemonal £46,000 towards the vital care of the patients and families who need us across East London. We are a registered charity and receive just over half of our funding from the NHS, which means we need to raise around £7m a year to keep our services running.
You can purchase a Flower of Celebration for £30. This includes collecting it from the Hospice in September once the Garden of Celebration installation is finished. For £35, your Flower of Celebration will be delivered to you after the installation.
Garden of Celebration
Each flower purchased will be planted at St Joseph’s Hospice in our Garden of Celebration to create a beautiful display of colours for the summer.
When you order your flower, you are invited to join us at the unveiling of the Garden of Celebration held on Saturday 12th July. You are welcome to bring family and friends if you would like to.
This event is a meaningful time to come together, share memories and celebrate the lives of those close to us that we have lost. At the opening, there will be refreshments and music to enjoy while viewing the display of colourful flowers.

Diane's Story

L-R Les, Diane and Joan
“My late Dad, Les, attended day services and had respite care at St Joseph’s Hospice before his passing in 1998. After he passed, my mum, Joan, had bereavement counselling at the hospice before becoming a volunteer in 2000. She had a great sense of humour and compassion in abundance, which was perfect for her roles in the cafe, at jumble sales and chatting and reading with patients on the wards.
Sadly, in 2010, her health began to decline and she had to give up volunteering, though the hospice became a great support to her in helping to manage her health conditions through peer support groups. Mum thoroughly enjoyed these, including the social aspect – often leaving in fits of laughter! Mum sadly passed away on 31st March 2020, just as lockdown started, which was extremely difficult for our family.
Flowers of Celebration has given my husband Ian and I something to remember my parents by and helps us to keep their memories alive.”
