Coping With Bereavement

Following a bereavement, some people find it difficult to talk about the way they are feeling, especially to family and friends. However, sharing painful feelings with someone who cares can often help.

We are able to offer bereaved people the opportunity to talk confidentially about their loss and the painful changes they may be facing with a counsellor, or trained volunteer. This often helps people to feel less isolated, more supported, and to gain reassurance, and make sense of their painful experience.

We are able to offer support in the form of one to one counselling, monthly support groups, or more informal gatherings, to relatives and friends of people who have been cared for by St Joseph's, whether in the Hospice, or at home. This includes bereaved children and the adults who care for them - please click here to learn more.

We are happy to see people at any time following a bereavement, and can offer appointments on weekdays during the day, or in the evening.

If you would like to talk to someone about the support available please do call us on 0208 5256031 or email info@stjh.org.uk
