Being Comfortable While Visiting
We want you and your loved one to be comfortable at St Joseph’s so, while your family member or close friend is a patient, you may visit at any time. Obviously, for most people visiting during the day or early evening is the best time and that is easiest for us to manage. However we do understand that those working very long hours, working shifts or those with difficulty in arranging child care, may want to visit outside the usual times and we will always try to make that possible.

In special circumstances you may wish to remain with a patient over night. The wards each have a single room where this may be possible but obviously if several families wish to use the room it may not always be possible to accommodate everyone. Sometimes a very close relative can stay overnight in a patient’s own room. The nurse in charge will make the necessary and appropriate arrangements.
The hospice has a dining room which visitors are welcome to use and the Courtyard Café is also open for snacks throughout the day. There is also a small kitchen which visitors may use when the Courtyard Café is closed. |
