Kites, St Joseph’s Children’s Bereavement Service, provides a programme of training for professionals working with children. This three part course, designed to give professionals confidence when faced with bereavement issues has proved enormously popular with schools in particular and we plan to extend the programme to other professionals for 2008.
For 2008 we are offering three courses for professionals working with children:
Working with Young People & Grief – Part I
This is a free, half day module (3 hours) covering basic issues concerning children and grief:
Introduction to grief theory
The questions children ask about death
How can I support young people where I work?

Practical ways of working with grieving children
Developing a bereavement policy for where you work
Self care when working with young people

Working with Young People & Grief - Part III

This is a one day practical workshop for those who have already attended Parts One and Two. It will be a day to network, to feedback about changes, and to learn new ways of working with young people.
