Lymphoedema Service
Clinic hours - Fridays from 9.30am to 12:30pm, except on Bank Holidays.
Treatment and support is provided through patient information, advice, psychological support, skin care, exercise, “Kinesio” taping, simple lymphatic drainage (SLD) and compression - either compression garments or multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging (MLLB).
Referrals will be accepted from any professional referring a patient with Grade 4 lymphoedema as classified by the British Lymphology Society (2001). The BLS describe grade 4 as; “people with advanced malignancy or metastatic cancer that will shorten their lives”. The service will also see patients with a Non Cancer diagnosis who have an advancing, life limiting disease and present with a persistent oedema. The patients must be resident either in Tower Hamlets, Hackney or Newham.
